Henrico County Council of PTAs Scholarship Program

in honor of Dr. George H. Moody

The County Council of PTAs Scholarship has provided financial assistance to Henrico County graduates in pursuit of higher learning for more than 20 years. The Scholarship is in honor of Dr. George H. Moody. We believe in higher education and are committed to providing extra financial assistance that will make it possible for a young person to continue his or her education upon graduation from high school. This could mean going to college, entering trade school, nursing training or other post high school training.

The criteria we review includes financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular and community service, the student's essay and recommendations. In the past 5 years alone, the County Council has awarded more than 65 scholarships for more than $86,000

Information about 2009 Scholarships will be sent out to all Henrico County High School Guidance Offices in December 2008.
