232 Lives, No Change

Throughout my piece of writing, I emphasized the idea and theme of gun control activism. Activism was the main idea; however, the emotions my story was trying to express were more important above the theme itself. The main feelings the character felt, starting off with fear, going through grief, and then determination was the emotion hierarchy significant to the theme. Changing the world doesn't mean advocating to fix a societal issue; in fact, it means going through a series of grief, sorrow, and trauma and using the experience to make the world a better place for the newer generations.
