RICHMOND DISTRICT PTA EXECUTIVE BOARD
Living in Goochland, Wanda has been involved with PTA for about 20 years in various positions, including the president, vice-president, treasurer, and stand-by secretary on the local levels. She has previously served the Richmond District as secretary-treasurer and Assistant District Director. Wanda wants all PTA leaders to know, "I am here to serve you in any way that I can. My door is always open. No issue is too small or large."
Patrice is an inner-city public school graduate with three grandchildren in Richmond Public Schools. She also serves as the Vice President of Oak Grove Bellmeade Elementary PTA. Over her 20 years with Virginia PTA, she has focused on being a strong liaison, linking students and families to community resources. In her downtime, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, especially her seven grandchildren and two dogs.
Secretary and Treasurer
Joy Buckner's PTA engagement began during her son's early elementary years as a room parent and volunteer. For several years, she served as the secretary for Henrico county's LAY Advisory Committee and the Henrico County Council of PTAs. As a mother, teacher, community leader and advocate, she remains committed to bridging communities and expanding communications for the betterment of all people within our shared societies.
Diachelle works with children and adults with behavioral and intellectual disabilities as a mental health support professional with more than 10 years of experience. Her involvement with student advocacy sparked from working as an Instructional Assistant in the Special Education Department at Patrick Henry Elementary School. She is a native of Richmond and an alumna of Huguenot High School and James Madison University.
Family Engagement Chair
Timika is a Respiratory Therapist for VCU Children’s Hospital who has worked with and served children for nearly 15 years. Her goal is to create a better and more innovative future for the families of Richmond, which she believes starts with our children. She is also the PTA President at John B. Cary Elementary School, where she has assisted in helping to make this school one of the best in the school system.
Hanover County Council of PTAs
Amy is the president of Hanover County Council of PTAs, representing more than 20 PTA/PTSAs in the county. She also serves as Treasurer for Atlee High School PTSA. Her four kids keep her connected to schools at all levels with two in high school, one in middle school and one in elementary school. When she is not working on PTA duties, she is a bookkeeper/accountant.
Henrico County Council of PTAs and Advocacy Chair
As the Richmond District PTA Advocacy Chair, Debbie represents Richmond area PTAs on the Virginia PTA Advocacy Committee. She also serves as president of the Henrico County Council of PTAs and is the vice president of Programs at Gayton Elementary, where her two children attend 2nd and 5th grades. When she is not volunteering for PTA, Debbie works as a public relations practitioner.
Richmond City Council of PTAs
A New York native, Tanya Francis holds a Masters in Science in Psychology from Virginia State University. She works in the mental health field, currently serving on the board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. With three Richmond Public School students, Tanya has been active in restoring and growing parent engagement through PTAs, on the RPS Parent Advisory Board, and currently the RPS School Health Advisory Board.
